Bug identified: Delay in updating the My Works section of Teosto’s web service

What to do if your registered work does not appear in your My Works list.

A bug has been detected in Teosto’s web service related to the My Works listing. In some cases, a registered work does not appear in the My works listing, although the work has been registered into the international ICE database.

Registered works are displayed in Teosto’s web service’s General Work Search, the view of which is retrieved directly from the international works database.

The current situation is due to the fact that the My Works view is retrieved (for technical reasons that speed up the operation of the online service) from Teosto’s own work cache, not directly from the ICE work database.

Here’ s the situation illustrated by a picture:

When data is being collected for the My Works view of Teosto’s web service, it is not retrieved from the entire register of 50 million works, because the search would take too long. Instead, we update our members’ work data automatically from the international work database, and the My Works view is retrieved from this cache.

At the moment, the red arrow shown in the image, i.e. the data update automation, is not working correctly, which is why the data updates slowly and with a delay.

If the work you have registered does not appear in My Works, follow these steps

If you have received an email confirming that your work notification has been received, but the work does not yet appear in the My Works view, you can check whether the registration has been successful using the General Work Search.

If your work can be found in the General Work Search (the results of which are retrieved directly from the international database of works), it will also appear in the My Works view over time.

If you can’t find your work in the General Work Search yet, wait a few days and try again – it may take a little longer than usual to register due to the recent update of the international work database.

Please note that when submitting a performance announcement, works are added through the General Work Search (directly from the international work database), i.e. the work can be added to the setlist as soon as it has been registered.

Also important to note that the My Works update lag does not affect distributions.
